John Ludwick to give Heartland Film Festival lecture

The free lecture is being offered during this year's Heartland Film Festival. Sponsored by the Heartland Film Institute, Ludwick's talk is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10.

Informatics staffer selected as recipient of IUPUI civic engagement award

MAS grad is keynote speaker for Black Entertainment Television (BET)

Virginia RichardsonJune 23, 2009 — Virginia Richardson, a 2007 Media Arts & Science graduate, served as a keynote speaker recently for Black Entertainment Television (BET). Richardson addressed attendees at BET's internship orientation, sharing with students the importance of higher education, and the value of developing a "personal brand" in the workplace.

Jake Chen receives top-level designation by ACM; featured in campus Faculty Spotlight

May 20, 2009 — Jake Chen, assistant professor, IU School of Informatics at IUPUI, was recently recognized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) as the recipient of the 2009 Senior Member. According to ACM, the senior member grade is an award that "recognizes those ACM members with at least 10 years of professional experience and 5 years of continuous Professional Membership who have demonstrated performance that sets them apart from their peers."

School presents diplomas to May 2009 graduates

May 13, 2009 — A graduation recognition dinner and Mother's Day commencement ceremony brought to a close the academic journeys of graduate and undergrad students in the IU School of Informatics at IUPUI. 179 students received their diploma during the School's commencement exercise Sunday, May 10 at the Indiana Convention Center.

IU School of Informatics hosting dinner and diploma ceremony for its graduates in conjunction with IUPUI commencement

April 30, 2009 — Mother’s Day will once again carry special significance for IUPUI graduates and their families, including 179 newly minted grads of the IU School of Informatics. IUPUI commencement exercises will be held Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10 at 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. in Halls A-B-C of the Indiana Convention Center downtown. The School of Informatics will participate in the 10:00 A.M. ceremony.

Informatics medical animation featured in public television series on health

That’s been the longtime mantra of Albert William, an IUPUI research associate. To that end, a health-related animation project created by William is featured in an important series of broadcasts on public television stations across Indiana.
