Prior to joining the School of Informatics, Afsina Yildiz was a Graduate Assistant and a Teaching Assistant in the Telecommunications department at Ball State University. She was also a freelance video producer and scriptwriter for clients in the U.S and the U.A.E (United Arab Emirates).
Yildiz has received several awards from National Broadcasting Society, and scholarships from Ampers (Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations) and BEA (Broadcast Education Association).
