An associate professor of the Oral Pathology, Medicine and Radiology Department, Dr. Edwin T. Parks re-joined the faculty of Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1997 after a two-year absence, during which time he had a solo oral medicine practice in Tallahassee (FL). After graduating from Centre College (Danville, KY) in 1977 with a BS in both Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, he attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (Lexington) & received his DMD in1981. In the interim from 1981 until he came to Indiana University School of Dentistry for postgraduate study in 1991, Dr. Parks held positions at Hazard (KY) Community College & Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, KY), & had a solo private practice in general dentistry in Whitesburg (KY). While pursuing his postgraduate degree, he became the staff dentist for the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center & began his training in forensic odontology.

He received his MS in Dental Diagnostic Sciences in 1995. Dr. Parks is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral Medicine & the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. As well, he is a member of the American Dental Education Association, International Association for Dental Research, American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, & American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Parks has published multiple book chapters & articles. As well, he has been an invited speaker making presentations covering various oral medicine & radiology topics both nationally & internationally. Dr. Parks sees radiology, oral medicine and TMJ/TMD/facial pain patients through The Center for Oral Diagnosis and Treatment.
