Ruth Walker, MIS, RHIA, CPHQ, Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor in the Health Information Administration Program, currently teaches the M315 Quantitative Research, M420 Healthcare Planning and Information Systems, M462 Healthcare Quality Improvement, and M441,M442, M459 Professional Practice Experience. She coordinates the clinical affiliations of the student clinical internships. She has also taught Alternative Healthcare Careers and Budgeting classes. In addition, Walker facilitated job placement for graduates and recruitment into the HIA program.
She has worked professionally in hospital facilities of various sizes, and has developed nursing, rehabilitation, and mental health facilities. She has also worked with a startup medical speech recognition software firm. Walker has continued to maintain a personal healthcare consulting business since 1996.
She has been heavily involved with her national and state professional organization including being a previous state association president and has been honored with the Distinguished Member Award from IHIMA.
