MediaSauce Scholarship created to support IUPUI Media Arts and Science Program

August 28, 2009 — The Indiana University School of Informatics has announced the creation of a scholarship supported by MediaSauce to be given to students who are studying in the Media Arts and Science Program at IUPUI. The inaugural scholarship will be granted in spring 2010 to a deserving student, based on their merit and achievement within the program.

MAS class project blossoms into bicycle safety Web site for Riley Hospital

source: Riley Hospital for ChildrenAugust 26, 2009 — When Dr. Karen Stroup, IU School of Medicine, and Janet Everly, IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences visited Edgar Huang's Media Arts and Science class last year, they arrived with an idea for a Web site.  The duo left having planted a seed that eventually blossomed into a high profile offering by Riley Hospital for Children.

School presents diplomas to May 2009 graduates

May 13, 2009 — A graduation recognition dinner and Mother's Day commencement ceremony brought to a close the academic journeys of graduate and undergrad students in the IU School of Informatics at IUPUI. 179 students received their diploma during the School's commencement exercise Sunday, May 10 at the Indiana Convention Center.

IU School of Informatics hosting dinner and diploma ceremony for its graduates in conjunction with IUPUI commencement

April 30, 2009 — Mother’s Day will once again carry special significance for IUPUI graduates and their families, including 179 newly minted grads of the IU School of Informatics. IUPUI commencement exercises will be held Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10 at 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. in Halls A-B-C of the Indiana Convention Center downtown. The School of Informatics will participate in the 10:00 A.M. ceremony.

April 27, 2009 — One of the most anticipated events on the IU School Informatics calendar is just around the corner, and you are invited to attend! On Friday, May 1, 4:00-8:00 P.M., five Media Arts and Science (MAS) graduate students will join 42 senior MAS undergraduates in presenting their Capstone projects.

Media Arts and Science senior named 2009 Top Ten Male Student by IUPUI

Javier BarreraApril 14, 2009 — Javier Barrera, a senior majoring in Media Arts and Science at the IU School of Informatics, has been selected as a 2009 Top Ten Male Student by IUPUI. The top 100 male and female students were honored recently at the 2009 IUPUI Outstanding Student Recognition Dinner at which Barrera learned of his selection as a Top Ten Male student.

March 20, 2009 — Eric Young has been selected as a scholarship recipient to attend Photoshop World in Boston. Young is a student of Beth Lykins, lecturer, IU School of Informatics, Media Arts and Science Program.

Bioinformatics grad student captures poster award

March 2, 2009 — Sudhir Chowbina, a master's degree student in the Indiana University School of Informatics, Bioinformatics program, claimed a high honor for his research poster at the MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society conference recently. Chowbina, who is studying under the direction of Dr. Jake Y. Chen, earned an honorable mention award for his entry in the conference's posters presentation event.
